Enlisted on October 6, 1942, he served with the 460^th Bombardment Group (Heavy), 763^rd Bombardment Squadron. He was transferred to the 885^th Bombardment Squadron on September 11, 1944 [3]. He flew twelve special missions with the 885^th totaling over 96 hours of combat time.
